1Who we are and what these terms cover
1.1Manuroute ("Manuroute", "we", "us") is an online platform operated by Antonio Sasso, an Italian self-employed professional (libero professionista), VAT number IT04607290717, with registered address at Via Giuseppe di Vittorio 171/B, 71043 Manfredonia (FG), Italia, contact hello@manuroute.com (the "Operator").
1.2These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the Manuroute website, apps and API (the "Platform") by:
- Customers: people and businesses who upload a print file and order a printed part;
- Producers: people and businesses who make their FDM 3D printers available to produce orders.
1.3The Privacy Policy and the Dispute and Acceptance Policy form part of these Terms. The Dispute and Acceptance Policy prevails on acceptance and disputes.
2Our role: intermediary with a collection mandate
2.1The producer sells the part to the customer. The contract for the production and sale of the part is concluded directly between the customer and the producer assigned to the order. Manuroute is not the seller, manufacturer or shipper of the part.
2.2Manuroute is an intermediary. We analyse the file, quote it, match the order to a compatible producer, hold the payment, and coordinate production, shipping and disputes.
2.3Collection mandate. By accepting these Terms, the producer appoints Manuroute to collect payment from the customer on the producer's behalf through Stripe Connect, to hold it until the order is completed, and then to transfer the producer's share, net of the platform fee, to the producer's Stripe account. Payment by the customer to Manuroute discharges the customer's payment obligation towards the producer.
2.4Platform fee. Manuroute invoices its own fee for the intermediation service. The producer is responsible for its own tax obligations, including VAT where applicable, on the sale of the part.
3Accounts
3.1You need an account to order or to produce. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
3.2Minimum age. You must be at least 18 years old to open an account and use the Platform. The Platform is not intended for minors. When you register you confirm that you are 18 or over. If we learn that an account holder is under 18, we close the account, cancel and refund any order not yet accepted by a producer, and delete the data as described in the Privacy Policy.
3.3Producers must, in addition:
- verify their email and phone number;
- open and keep active a Stripe Connect Express account with verified identity, and accept Stripe's terms for connected accounts;
- declare their machines, materials, nozzles and the countries they ship to truthfully;
- provide the tax information required by the DAC7 rules (tax identification number or VAT number, residence address, payout account). Producers who refuse to provide it may have payouts held or their account suspended where the law requires it.
3.4One person or business may not use multiple accounts to get around limits, trust levels or suspensions.
3.5Catalog accounts. A customer may open a catalog on its account to order the same file many times for its own buyers, by hand, by CSV file or through the API (a catalog account, or merchant). It stays a customer account: these terms apply to each of its orders as to any other order, and the merchant is the customer of every order it places. API keys are credentials of the account: the merchant keeps them secret and is responsible for the orders placed with them.
4How an order works
4.1Order types. At launch the Platform offers Ready-to-Print: the customer uploads an already sliced file (.gcode.3mf or .gcode from the OrcaSlicer family, or .gcode/.bgcode from PrusaSlicer), up to 200 MB. When Managed Print (from a model: STL, or 3MF without slicing) becomes available, its quote is an estimate that the producer confirms or corrects within 12 hours of receiving the order. The producer may correct the estimate with its own slicing figures. A lower price applies at once, and the difference is refunded. A price up to 20% higher needs the customer's approval within 48 hours: the customer pays the new total as a new payment, and the first payment is refunded. Without the approval, the order goes to another producer at the estimated price. A correction of more than 20% returns the order to matching. While the offer is open, the producer sees the model and may download it to slice it. In Managed Print orders the producer chooses orientation, seams and supports; conformity is judged on the material, colour, quality class and strength class, the dimensions (within ±0.5 mm or ±1% of the axis, whichever is larger), the number of copies, and the mesh warnings shown at order time.
4.2Order flow. Each order goes through these steps, each recorded as an event in the order history:
- Quote: the Platform reads the file and shows a price, a delivery estimate and the trust level of the assigned producer.
- Payment: the customer pays the price plus shipping; Manuroute holds the funds.
- Matching: the Platform selects a compatible producer automatically; the customer does not choose.
- Offer: the producer has 6 hours to accept; otherwise the offer goes to the next producer. After 3 unsuccessful attempts the order is refunded in full. Producers with auto-accept skip this step.
- Production, then Printed: the producer prints and uploads the mandatory photos.
- Shipped: the producer hands in the parcel with the prepaid label bought by the Platform, and the carrier's first scan marks the order shipped; where no label is available, the producer ships with its own carrier and enters the tracking number.
- Acceptance window: from delivery, the customer has 72 hours to accept or open a dispute.
- Completed: the producer's share is released.
4.3Delivery estimate. The delivery date shown at quote time is an indicative estimate, not a binding term: it depends on the producer's acceptance, the print time and the carrier. When the producer accepts the order, the order shows the shipping date the producer has committed to (the "promised date"). A producer who ships more than 3 days after the promised date loses reliability score (section 8.3). If the parcel has not been shipped 5 days after the promised date, the customer may cancel the order from the order page and receives a full refund, including shipping; the producer receives nothing for that order.
5Prices, fees and payment
5.1Producer price. The quote engine calculates the producer price from material, machine time, setup, optional post-processing, packaging and a risk allowance, using rates the producer sets within allowed ranges. The material rate is set per material family; when the file names a variant of the family (for example HT-PLA for PLA), the rate card may add a surcharge to the material cost of that filament only.
5.2Platform fee. The platform fee is 15% of the producer price, with a minimum of 4 EUR per order, split as follows:
- the producer always pays exactly 5% of its price, withheld from the amount paid out to it;
- the customer pays the rest, added to the price shown to the customer: 10% of the producer price or, when 15% of the producer price is below 4 EUR, the difference between 4 EUR and the producer's 5%.
For example, on a producer price of 20 EUR the 15% fee would be 3 EUR, so the minimum applies: the producer pays 1 EUR (5%) and the customer pays 3 EUR (4 EUR minus 1 EUR). The minimum never increases the producer's share of the fee. The customer always sees the final price, fee included, before paying. Shipping is never part of the fee (section 5.3).
5.3Shipping is passed through at cost and shown separately. At launch the shipping cost is estimated from tables by country and weight. Manuroute takes no margin on shipping.
5.4Taxes. VAT on the platform fee is applied according to the customer's status and location.
5.5Promotions. Manuroute may waive or reduce the fee for specific producers or orders (for example for founding producers) when announced in writing.
5.6Payment and holding of funds. Payments are processed by Stripe. The customer pays at the time of ordering. The funds remain on the Manuroute platform balance and are not transferred to the producer until the order is completed (section 4.2, step 8) or a dispute is resolved.
5.7Payout to the producer. After completion, the producer's share is transferred and paid out after the delay that applies to the producer's trust level (section 8).
5.8No fee to receive work. Manuroute earns from producers only the share of the platform fee withheld from orders that are completed and paid out (section 5.2). There is no fee for verification or certification, no subscription, no paid ranking or placement, and no fee for leads, offers or quotes. The order in which producers receive offers cannot be bought.
6Producer obligations
6.1Print the toolpath as sliced; tune only the filament. In Ready-to-Print orders the producer runs the customer's sliced file without changing it. On the printer, and never in the file, the producer may adjust only the tuning of its own filament: nozzle temperature within ±10 °C of the file's value, bed temperature for its own build plate, flow and pressure advance, purge volumes, the mapping of spools to slots, and the Z offset. Anything that changes the toolpath (layer height, walls, infill, supports, speeds and accelerations, orientation, scale) is not allowed; when a part needs it, the producer flags the risk before accepting (6.1.1).
6.1.1Risk flagged before acceptance. With an offer, before accepting, the producer may flag one or more risks from the list shown with the offer (temperature for its spool, speed for the geometry, supports, first layer and adhesion, layer height for the nozzle, slot mapping, build plate type, other). The producer may decline for the flagged reasons; a decline never affects its reliability. Or the producer asks the customer, who within 24 hours either cancels the order before acceptance, with a full refund, to upload a corrected file, or accepts the risk and has the file printed as it is. The acceptance is recorded on the order.
6.2Compatible machines. An offer may be made to a producer whose machine is another model of the same G-code family (same manufacturer and firmware, as listed in the catalog) with an equal or larger build volume and compatible attributes; the offer will say so (for example, "profile for Centauri Carbon, execution on Centauri") and the producer must confirm explicitly, by acknowledging the transposition warning shown with the offer, that the machine can execute the profile before it can accept the order. A file sliced for another manufacturer's family, or for a model outside the catalog, is never offered to another model. A profile for a larger machine class is never offered to a smaller class. If the file contains a modified start G-code, the producer must review and confirm it before printing. The customer does not approve the transposition in advance, but the order page shows the customer which machine model the file was sliced for, and the model actually used appears in the order history; a part that does not meet the acceptance criteria because of the transposition is the producer's responsibility under the Dispute and Acceptance Policy, except for a risk flagged and accepted under 6.1.1.
6.3Photos. Before shipping, the producer must upload clear photos of the print plate, the finished part, the part on a weighing scale showing its weight, and the packed parcel.
6.4Packaging and shipping. The producer packs the part following the Platform's packaging instructions for the material and size and photographs the packed parcel. When a prepaid label is available, the Platform buys it at the price the customer paid for shipping and the producer hands the parcel in at the carrier's drop-off point shown on the job, to the customer's address or chosen pickup point. Otherwise the producer ships with its own carrier to the customer's address and enters a valid tracking number.
6.5Failures. If a print fails and the producer cannot complete the order, the producer must declare the failure promptly through the Platform. The order is then re-matched to another producer or refunded, and the declared failure affects the producer's reliability score (see the Dispute and Acceptance Policy).
6.6Truthful declarations. Machines, materials and capabilities must be declared truthfully and verified where the Platform asks for it. Producers must not accept orders they cannot execute. A file that names a material variant (for example HT-PLA or PA6-CF) is offered only to producers who declared that variant on the machine; declaring a variant means holding that filament, not another one of the same family.
7Customer obligations
7.1The customer must upload a file it has the right to use (section 10), provide a correct shipping address and describe acceptance criteria where the Platform asks for them.
7.2Declared use. The customer must declare the intended use of the part. The customer is responsible for checking that the part is suitable for that use. Parts are produced on FDM desktop and prosumer machines and are not certified for any purpose.
7.3The customer is responsible for the design and slicing choices in its own file. Defects that come from the file itself are not the producer's responsibility.
7.4Orders for a merchant's buyers. A merchant that has an order shipped to its own buyer warrants that it may pass the buyer's name, address and phone number to Manuroute and to the producer for that order, that it has informed the buyer of this, and that it holds the rights on the files of its catalog (section 11). Manuroute does not contact the buyer: every message about the order goes to the merchant. A catalog adds no fee: the order fees of section 5 apply to each order.
8Trust levels and limits
8.1Each producer has a trust level that determines the maximum value per order and the payout delay after completion:
| Level | Requirements | Limit per order | Payout delay |
|---|---|---|---|
| L0 Account verified | Email, phone, Stripe Connect active with verified identity | 50 EUR | 7 days |
| L1 Machine verified | Machine photo with a Platform-generated code, serial number, Platform test model printed and photographed | 250 EUR | 5 days |
| L2 Reputation | At least 15 completed jobs, reliability above 95%, disputes below 3% | 1,000 EUR | 3 days |
| L3 Professional / Farm | Business verification (KYB), VAT number or equivalent, optional liability insurance | 5,000 EUR and above | 2 days, auto-accept, priority |
| L4 Gateway verified | Machine agent installed, telemetry (future phase) | Unlimited | 24 hours |
8.2New producers may have at most 3 active jobs at the same time. Machines of models not in the catalogue are limited to the L1 order limit until a verified test print confirms their capabilities.
8.3Reliability score. The Platform calculates a reliability score from completion, punctuality, disputes lost, declared failures, photo quality and response time. Jobs from the last 90 days count double. The score affects matching and trust level.
8.4Manuroute may lower a trust level or limits where the requirements are no longer met or where there are signs of fraud.
8.5Admission by demand. Once the network reaches the producer thresholds published on the Platform, the number of producers who receive offers in each country is capped by the seats published for that country, set from the reservations and paid orders there and never fewer than 3. A producer whose machine is verified beyond the seats keeps the verification and waits with its machines offline: it receives no offers while waiting, and waiting costs nothing. Waiting producers are admitted in the order they were verified, by email, when a seat opens.
8.6Inactivity. When no offer has been accepted on a producer's machines for 180 days, and none of its online machines has been verified or changed in that time, the Platform takes its machines offline and tells the producer by email. The verification, the trust level and the profile stay as they are; no producer is removed for low volume. One click on the machines page puts a machine online again.
9Communication and conduct
9.1Customers and producers communicate only through the job chat on the Platform. Contact outside the Platform, and arranging orders outside the Platform with a counterparty met through it, are not allowed. This non-circumvention obligation applies while you have an account and for 12 months after the last order between the same customer and producer. Breach is grounds for suspension or closure under section 15.
9.2The Platform detects suspicious customer-producer pairs (for example the same IP address or address) and may block or review such orders.
10Prohibited uses and items
10.1Parts ordered through the Platform must not be used in:
- safety-critical components (where failure could cause injury or death);
- medical devices or applications;
- aeronautical or aerospace applications.
10.2The customer must not order, and the producer must not produce:
- weapons and weapon parts, including firearm components, receivers and frames, suppressors, magazines and accessories designed for firearms;
- devices intended to defeat safety features, interlocks or locks (for example lock-picking tools, bypass keys, or parts that disable a machine's safety guard);
- counterfeit items and items that reproduce a trademark, logo or protected design without authorisation;
- parts presented or marketed as certified or suitable for food contact, medical or aerospace use when no such certification exists;
- items that infringe intellectual property or other rights of third parties;
- items whose production, possession, sale or shipment is illegal in the producer's or the customer's country.
10.3Manuroute may refuse, cancel or refund any order that appears to breach this section.
11Intellectual property, licence and takedown
11.1Customer warranty. The customer warrants that it owns, or has all rights needed to use, the uploaded file and to have it produced, and that production does not infringe the rights of any third party. The customer will indemnify Manuroute and the producer against third-party claims arising from a breach of this warranty.
11.2Limited production licence. The customer grants Manuroute and the assigned producer a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, limited to the order, to store, process, analyse and print the file solely to quote, match, produce, ship and handle disputes for that order. No other right is granted. The customer keeps all its rights in the file.
11.3Notice and takedown. Anyone who believes that a file or order infringes their rights may notify us at hello@manuroute.com with: their contact details, identification of the protected work and of the file or order concerned, the reasons, and a statement of good faith. We will review the notice, may suspend the order or remove the file, and will inform the customer, who may respond.
11.4Platform rights. The Platform, including the 3MF parser, its brand and content belong to the Operator. If parts of it are published under an open source licence, this clause will name them and the licence.
12File confidentiality and security
12.1Files are encrypted at rest. Downloads use signed links that expire after 24 hours. Only the assigned producer can access an order's file, and only while the order is accepted or in production. Every download is logged.
12.2Files are used only to fulfil the order and for no other purpose.
12.3The producer must not retain, copy, share or reproduce the customer's files or parts beyond what the order requires. Files are deleted automatically from the producer side 30 days after the order is completed; the producer must also delete any local copies by that time.
12.4NDA for business customers. Business customers can accept a standard non-disclosure agreement with one click; it then binds the producers assigned to their orders.
13Cancellation and withdrawal right
13.1Free cancellation before producer acceptance. The customer may cancel an order free of charge, with a full refund including shipping, at any time before a producer accepts it: that is, before matching and during the offer window (section 4.2, steps 3 and 4). Cancellation is done from the order page and takes effect immediately.
13.2No cancellation after producer acceptance. Once a producer has accepted the order, the part is made to the customer's specifications from the customer's own file and production starts. From that moment the order cannot be cancelled by the customer, except in the late-shipping case of section 4.3. Parts are clearly personalised goods: under art. 59 of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005) and art. 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, which exclude goods made to the consumer's specifications, the EU consumer right of withdrawal does not apply to these orders.
13.3This does not affect the customer's rights under the Dispute and Acceptance Policy or any mandatory consumer rights for non-conforming goods.
14Liability
14.1As an intermediary, Manuroute is not liable for the production, quality or delivery of the part, which are the producer's responsibility as seller, nor for the content of customers' files.
14.2To the extent permitted by law, the total liability of Manuroute, and of the producer towards the customer, for any order is limited to the value of that order.
14.3Manuroute is not liable for damage resulting from use of a part in breach of section 10 or outside the use declared by the customer.
14.4Nothing in these Terms limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection rules.
15Suspension and termination
15.1Manuroute may suspend or close an account, hold payouts related to the conduct concerned, or cancel orders where a user breaches these Terms, provides false information, commits or attempts fraud, abuses disputes, or where the law requires it. Where possible we will give reasons and allow the user to respond.
15.2Users may close their account at any time. Orders in progress are completed or resolved first, and data required by law is kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
16Governing law and jurisdiction
16.1The governing law of these Terms is not set in this version.
16.2The competent court is not set in this version. Consumers keep their mandatory right to sue and be sued in the courts of their place of residence.
17Changes to these Terms
17.1We may change these Terms to reflect changes to the Platform, the law or our business. We will notify registered users by email or on the Platform at least 30 days before material changes take effect; changes required by law or to address a security or fraud risk may take effect sooner, with notice as early as we reasonably can.
17.2Changes do not apply to orders already paid. If you do not agree with the changes, you may close your account.
